Bernadine Strik, a veteran horticulture professor and berry crop specialist at Oregon State University, has been honored with the Duke Galletta Award for Excellence in Horticultural Research from the North American Blueberry Council, according to a news release.
The award was presented Sept. 29 at the industry’s Tech Symposium and Fall Meetings, held virtually and in Salem, Oregon.
During her career spanning more than 30 years, Strik’s research has touched on many topics, including physiology, yield and quality, and machine harvest. She has published more than 240 scientific papers and operates a berry crop consulting business.
